Just a year ago, during a nomination for a promotion was discussed, concerns were brought up that maybe this person wasn't confident enough to lead a team. Probably too quiet and not so visible. And that person couldn't agree more, yet her manager believed in her enough to push for the nomination.

One year later, when asked to rate the characteristics of their manager, the team mentioned Dominant was one of them. I guess that once quiet and not so confident engineer has traveled through a mountain of shit and come back as a dominant warrior! (at least that's what I like to think)

Toot toot, happy one year anniversary. The little choo choo train is not so little anymore.

Let's see what more roller coasters lie ahead.

I have not written here for a while. Because too much shit has happened. Too much stress. Too much pressure.

But after time I'm on the verge of giving up, I am inspired by how great my team is. They are a bunch of super heros.

And somehow we always pull through.

Takes years to build, and yet one day to ruin. Never ruin your reputation over something stupid. It's not worth it.

Yup, it's just another day in the office.

Being a manager is like being a parent to teenage kids. They will never appreciate or realize the sacrifices you make until they grow up and have children of their own. Yet nothing makes you happier than to watch them grow up and succeed.

The little choo choo train thought it was a super mighty train that could handle everything. The choo choo train just kept going faster and faster.

One day something happen. Something precious was taken away.

The choo choo train no longer wants to climb hills anymore. Climbing hills will never give it back what it lost.

...the only thing left to hang on is to each other. If even the team spirit dies, we all die with it.

Sometimes I feel like I'm going to collapse from all the pressure and expectations. But then when I look up and see all potential in the engineers around me, my confidence is regained.
